Welcome to Sol Plaatje Secondary School website. Our school is one of the most prestigious and high-achieving schools in Mahikeng in North West Province, Republic of South Africa. We offer a diverse curriculum that enables learners to take that first step towards their dream career. The school is characterised by discipline and order, with learners and educators focusing on the business of school – learning and teaching. We insist on excellence and strive to create an environment where all learners can explore and develop their potential to the fullest in academics, sport and arts. We are inspired by our learners’ high expectations of themselves and their commendable achievements in the various aspects of our curriculum.
This website was initiated and funded by a group of our former learners, most of whom were our first enrolment of learners when the school started in 2002. We are eternally indebted to them and very grateful for this project and support.
Sol Plaatje Secondard School was established in January 2002 with only an Administration Block, twelve (12) classrooms.
In 2004 The school received the first group of exchange students from Finland and Uruguay.
Sol Plaatjie Secondary School is determined to achieve the highest standards through highly structured approach to academic development.
We offer the curriculum prescribed for all South African schools in terms of the National Education Policy Act and other relevant Acts.
